This scent perfects the smell you would take in at Bradford on a good day. The scent begins with top notes of dune grass and daisy petals; followed by middle notes of clove leaf and gardenia bloom; sitting on base notes of sunscreen, amber sands, and sheer musk.

Candle Care + Safety

When lighting your candle, be sure to allow a consistent burn for 1-3 hours or until you achieve a melt pool (liquefied wax on the top layer of a burning candle) from each side of the container. This prevents your candle from tunneling.

Caring For Your Cotton-Wicked Candle
It’s important to trim your wick to ¼ inch before lighting. You can use scissors or one of our stainless steel wick trimmers. This will ensure your candle burns cleaner, longer, and safer.

Caring For Your Wood-Wicked Candle
Upon burning your Milwaukee wooden-wick candle for the first time, be sure to keep the flame on the wick for a while (10-30 seconds). It is real wood with no weird chemicals soaked in for easy lighting. So like a log or stick, you really need to torch the wick for a while to get the wick to “coal” like a log would.

After burning your Milwaukee wooden-wick candle, the wooden wick will have a burnt top that should be removed. If you notice an overly large flame upon relighting, you’ll know it is time to trim the excess portion of the burnt wick. These steps also ensure a consistent soot free burn. These steps insure a consistent, soot free burn.

Safety
Always keep a burning candle within sight, and out of reach of children and pets
Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire
Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time
Trim candlewicks to 1/4” inch each time before burning
Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times
Be sure the candle is placed on a stable, heat resistant surface
Be extra careful, and discontinue burning a candle when 1/4 inch of wax remains in the container

Pretty much the best fragrance ever.

My husband and son brought me home this candle as a gift from their travels to Milwaukee. Candles are kind of my thing...like champagne. Over the years, I’ve been lucky to receive everything from luxury Jo Malone candles worth hundreds of dollars to Yankee Candles and beautifully crafted local soy candles.

This candle’s fragrance is nothing short of magnificent. It’s a scent that works year-round, and I can only describe it as delicate and rich. The moment I lifted the elegant wooden lid, its light, fresh aroma filled the room. Although the fragrance has a floral, almost blossom-like quality, it is not overly feminine. It would be just as fitting for a gentleman’s whiskey tasting as it would for a cozy girls’ night with chocolate and wine.

Honestly, it may be the best fragrance I’ve ever smelled. It’s never overpowering, yet it fills a 1,000-square-foot space within minutes...so much so that you don’t need to burn it long to enjoy its full effect of fragrance.

The wooden wick, a cylindrical column rather than a typical string, burns slowly and evenly, without the quick flickering and unsightly (and unhealthy) smoke you often get with other candles.

The glass container is just as thoughtfully designed. With its thick base and minimalist elegance, there’s no need to hide it in a holder. The label and wax are tastefully done...truly more like home decor than packaging. It’s beautiful enough to leave out, and honestly, you might want to...because people will constantly ask you what candle it is.

The fragrance is versatile. The aesthetic is refined. And it is far more memorable than any bottle of wine or bouquet of flowers you might give for the same price.

I’ve never written a review before, but it’s clear this candle was crafted with much care and purpose...and I wish I had ten more.

Bravo, Milwaukee Candle Company. Bradford Beach (on a good day) truly is the perfect scent. I’d love to see you turn it into a personal fragrance we could wear and take with us beyond our homes.
