Candle Care + Safety
Candle Care + Safety
When lighting your candle, be sure to allow a consistent burn for 1-3 hours or until you achieve a melt pool (liquefied wax on the top layer of a burning candle) from each side of the container. This prevents your candle from tunneling.
Caring For Your Wood-Wicked Candle
Upon burning your Milwaukee wooden-wick candle for the first time, be sure to keep the flame on the wick for a while (10-30 seconds). It is real wood with no weird chemicals soaked in for easy lighting. So like a log or stick, you really need to torch the wick for a while to get the wick to “coal” like a log would.
After burning your Milwaukee wooden-wick candle, the wooden wick will have a burnt top that should be removed. If you notice an overly large flame upon relighting, you’ll know it is time to trim the excess portion of the burnt wick. These steps also ensure a consistent soot free burn. These steps insure a consistent, soot free burn.
Safety
Always keep a burning candle within sight, and out of reach of children and pets
Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire
Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time
Trim candlewicks to 1/4” inch each time before burning
Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times
Be sure the candle is placed on a stable, heat resistant surface
Be extra careful, and discontinue burning a candle when 1/4 inch of wax remains in the container.
